Biographical Information

Kelly Thrasher Fox’s practice focuses primarily in the areas of real estate development, mergers and acquisitions, contract negotiation, business and estate planning, finance, and general corporate, tax and contract law.

Kelly has significant experience in all aspects of real estate transactions, including representing both local and national clients in acquiring, developing, and financing real estate transactions as well as managing, leasing and selling existing projects or land. She specializes in complex entitlement issues, title and survey, ground leases (including the specific title insurance issues related to ground leases), assemblage of land parcels, master planned communities, and working within historic or community development districts. Kelly has assisted developers, builders, investors, lenders, landlords, tenants, and private and public entities on a wide range of asset classes, such as distribution centers, shopping centers, governmental buildings, residential subdivisions, multi-family housing, cell phone tower sites, and vacant land. She has also represented developers and property owners in zoning and permitting issues before governmental bodies. Kelly has closed over one billion dollars in various transactions since joining the Firm.

Kelly also offers a broad range of experience in the preparation and negotiation of contracts and agreements pertaining to all aspects of commercial transactions. She assists business owners in all aspects of their business – selling or expanding their business, financing and contractual negotiations, addressing employment, supplier and vendor issues, and dissolving their business. Kelly also works with various municipalities in remediating blight and addressing other real estate issues.

Kelly lives in Shelby County, Alabama and served on the board of directors of the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce for many years and remains an active member. Kelly was named as one of the Birmingham Business Journal’s Top 40 under 40 in 2015.
