Biographical Information

Jack Russell has represented private equity companies, developers, and lenders through all phases of real estate development and lending. His practice focuses on the finance, acquisition, and dispositions of office, multi-family, hotels, restaurants, and subdivisions throughout the Sunbelt region.

He also has significant experience acting as outside general counsel, advising clients on transactional matters, business litigation, and all phases of corporate development and governance. In particular, he frequently advises general contractors, community banks, non-traditional lenders, and subcontractors.

Representative transactions include the purchase and sale of industrial manufacturing facilities; merger of a multiple unit franchisee entity; and the sale of a real estate development company to an outside equity group. In addition, he has recently represented commercial lenders, community banks, and loan servicing companies through various mixed-use developments, real estate syndications, the refinancing of commercial warehousing facilities, and hotel transactions.

Jack also has significant experience in the single family sector, having been lead counsel for Alabama and Georgia-based developers and national homebuilders through numerous subdivisions.

He has been a frequent speaker, having spoken or presented at the University of Alabama School of Law, Samford University, Birmingham Entrepreneur’s Organization (“EO”), ABICLE, Law Review CLE, and the National Business Institute.
