Biographical Information
Henry T. Morrissette represents corporate and individual clients in state and federal courts throughout Alabama. For 35 years, he has successfully represented clients in business disputes, construction matters, and insurance disputes. He also defends businesses and insurance companies in life, health, and disability insurance matters, ERISA and employee benefits disputes, fraud and bad-faith claims, product liability cases, and class actions. He serves as Chair of the Firm’s Personal Injury, Insurance and Employment Practice Group. Henry was named Best Lawyers 2027 “Lawyer of the Year” for Insurance Law for Mobile, Alabama. Henry is listed in The Best Lawyers in America for Commercial Litigation, Insurance Law, Mass Tort Litigation /Class Actions – Defendants, and Product Liability Litigation – Defendants.
Henry has also held leadership roles in civil defense trial lawyer organizations. He has served on the Board of Directors of the International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC) and chaired the IADC Amicus Committee, In House and Law Firm Management Committee, and Trial Techniques and Tactics Committee. He co-edited the Third Edition of the Defense Counsel Training Manual published by the IADC and served on the faculty of the 2012 IADC Trial Academy at Stanford Law School. He also served as the IADC’s 2010 General Convention Chair and as Program Chair for the 2011 IADC Annual Meeting. Henry was President of the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association in 2001—2002 and served as Alabama State Representative for the Defense Research Institute from 2002—2005. He served as Chair of the Federal Court Civil Practice Section of the Mobile Bar Association from 2022-2024.
Henry contributes to the Mobile community through civic service and volunteer work. He is a former member of the Board of Directors of the Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce and served as Vice Chair for Economic Development. He co-chaired the Mobile Connect Program for the Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce and served as President of the Mobile Arts Council in 2012. He also volunteers with the South Alabama Volunteer Lawyers Program. Henry and his wife, Beth, live near Downtown Mobile.
