Biographical Information

Alisha D. Hurwood is an Associate in the Destin office. Her practice areas include community association law, local government law, business and commercial law, and real estate transactions.

Ms. Hurwood earned her Juris Doctor from the St. Thomas University College of Law. She received a book award for receiving the highest grade in Legal Thought and Policy. Ms. Hurwood earned her B.A. and M.S. degrees from Mississippi State University. She received the outstanding undergraduate and graduate student awards for the Department of Sociology. Ms. Hurwood is admitted to practice in Florida, and the U.S. District Courts of the Northern and Southern Districts of Florida. She practiced more than ten years in numerous counties across southern Florida prior to moving to the Emerald Coast.

Ms. Hurwood is active in the local bar and community. She is a member and Secretary of the Okaloosa chapter of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers. Ms. Hurwood is also a member of Impact 100 of Northwest Florida. She was appointed to the Florida Bar Committee on Diversity and Inclusion and the gender subcommittee. Ms. Hurwood has been invited to present at American Bar Association conferences and Florida seminars on a wide range of topics, such as contract law, community association regulations, and using technology to improve client services.
