Now is a good time to start or update your Estate Plan

Benjamin Franklin once said, “By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail.”

These are scary times for many people. And we are facing battles on many fronts. But while our lives take on a “new normal” as we fight against this terrible virus, shelter-in-place, and watch our economy change, now is also a good time to turn your thoughts to the future and make good plans. And that includes your estate plan, powers of attorney, trusts, and advanced directives. Admittedly, planning such things is never enjoyable, and is easy to put off until the next day, but Benjamin Franklin also said “you may delay, but time will not.”

Our staff of experienced estate and tax attorneys are ready to assist you. All it takes is a phone call. We will have an initial conversation with you about desire for a new or updated plan. We will then schedule a more detailed telephone or video conversation to discuss your options. And while we would normally enjoy meeting with you face to face, in today’s world, you can do this from the comfort of your home. And when it comes time to execute the documents, we have options available that will allow you to do this in a way that allows you and us to continue our required social distancing. And once done, you will feel better knowing that you have a good plan in place and that you can check that item off your to-do list.

The lawyers at Hand Arendall Harrison Sale are open for business and working, but not in the usual way. We are complying with all CDC rules and guidelines to make sure that our clients, staff and attorneys are as safe and protected as possible. We have technology available to assist us and keep us in communication with you. We are here to help you.

This alert was prepared by Hand Arendall Harrison Sale. For further information or assistance, please contact the attorneys listed below or the attorney with whom you normally work.
