Hand Arendall Welcomes Four Associates

Hand Arendall is pleased to announce the recent addition of four new associates in the Mobile and Birmingham offices. Jason E. Lee has joined the Birmingham office, while Jack O’ Dowd, Edward T. Rowe and Catherine Simon Spann have joined the Mobile office. The firm now has more than 65 attorneys across its four offices in Mobile, Birmingham, Fairhope and Athens.

Jason E. Lee is an associate in the litigation section in the firm’s Birmingham office. Mr. Lee primarily focuses matters concerning OSHA, construction and public contracts, commercial litigation, insurance coverage and bad faith, land use and environmental, and transportation, aviation and other personal injury cases. Mr. Lee graduated from Auburn University with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering in 2002, received his master’s degree in business administration from Samford University in 2008, and later earned his juris doctor from the Cumberland School of Law. Lee joins Hand Arendall after beginning his career at a regional law firm. He and his wife live in Homewood with their three sons.

Jack O’Dowd is an associate in the business section in the firm’s Mobile office, where his practice is focused primarily on Tax, Trust, and Estate Planning matters. He was raised in Mobile and attended the University of South Alabama where he majored in accounting. He attended law school at the University of Alabama and began his career in the tax section of a big four accounting firm in Atlanta following graduation. Mr. O’Dowd has also successfully completed the Certified Public Accountant examination. He and his wife live in Mobile with their two children.

Edward T. Rowe is an associate in litigation section in the firm’s Mobile office. His practice includes representing businesses in disputes involving issues related to contracts, collections, creditor’s rights, construction and employment. Mr. Rowe is a Georgia native and graduated with honors from the University of Georgia. He then obtained his juris doctor, cum laude, from the Cumberland School of Law where he served as the executive editor of the Cumberland Law Review. Mr. Rowe and his wife live in Fairhope with their two daughters.

Catherine Simon Spann is an associate in the litigation section in the firm’s Mobile office where she works with clients primarily in the areas of personal injury and commercial litigation. An Alabama native, Ms. Spann attended the University of Alabama and graduated magna cum laude. She later received her juris doctor from The University of Alabama School of Law. Following law school, Ms. Spann gained valuable experience as the law clerk for the Honorable Judge Roderick P. Stout of the 13th Judicial Circuit in Mobile, Alabama. Ms. Spann and her husband live in Mobile.
