Hand Arendall Harrison Sale Expands Municipal Law Capabilities with Two Key Hires in Birmingham Office
Hand Arendall Harrison Sale LLC, a leading regional law firm, today announced the addition of attorneys April Danielson and Lauren Brasher to its Birmingham office, reinforcing the firm’s commitment to delivering premier legal counsel to municipalities and public entities across Alabama.
The strategic hires bring significant depth to the firm’s State and Local Government Practice Group, pairing nearly three decades of seasoned municipal law experience with emerging talent in local government representation.

Danielson joins the firm as a municipal law attorney and member of the State and Local Government Practice Group. With nearly 30 years of experience representing Alabama municipalities and public entities, her practice is devoted exclusively to municipal and local government law. She advises elected officials, city staff and municipal boards on both general and complex legal and operational matters. Danielson currently serves as City Attorney for the City of Irondale, Alabama, and previously represented the City of Hoover, Alabama, the sixth-largest municipality in the state for 22 years. She has also represented other Alabama municipalities and local governmental entities and has proven experience in economic development, including participation on the legal economic development teams for the J.M. Smucker $1.1 billion plant in McCalla, Alabama and the Costco Warehouse $105 million location in Irondale, Alabama.
Brasher joins the firm as an associate in the Local Government Practice Group. She is an active member of the Alabama Association of Municipal Lawyers and the International Municipal Lawyers Association. A published author on municipal legal issues, Brasher contributed “Overview of Drainage Law in Alabama and How the Law Impacts Municipalities” in The Alabama Municipal Journal. She was selected by Super Lawyers as a “Rising Star” in 2024 and 2025 and was named to the Birmingham Business Journal’s 2025 NextGen 50 list, recognizing the region’s top emerging professionals.
