D. Ross McCloy, Jr. to Serve on Southern Legal Counsel, Inc. Board

D. Ross McCloy, Jr., Founding Partner of Harrison Sale McCloy, Attorneys at Law, has accepted the position to serve on the board of the Southern Legal Counsel, Inc. (SLC), a statewide not-for-profit public interest law firm.

As outlined by SLC, the firm is committed to equal justice for all and the attainment of basic human and civil rights. It is the mission of the Southern Legal Counsel to assist individuals and groups who otherwise may not have access to the justice system and whose cases may bring about systemic reform. SCL seeks to accomplish this mission through a range of strategic strategies including impact litigation, policy advocacy and training and technical assistance to lawyers, lay persons and organizations.

McCloy states, “I am honored that the current board has asked me to serve with them. This is an opportunity for me to give back to our great state and continue the mission of representing individuals who may come upon obstacles that they alone cannot fix or change.”

The SLC does not accept funding from any governmental source and does not limit their representation to any particular issue or specific area of interest. They have helped thousands of people obtain needed representation and are focused on working to ensure that state government works more efficiently and fairly. Southern Legal Counsel, Inc. was founded in 1977 and is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
