Biographical Information

Jerome (“Jerry”) Chapman is an associate in the Firm’s litigation section. He is a passionate advocate who is proud to serve his clients’ causes. Jerry’s practice is focused on complex litigation, construction law, professional liability, HIPAA and Title 42 Part B compliance, and employment law. He enjoys the problem-solving aspects presented by challenging litigation matters, as well as the opportunity to advise his clients on the development of policies that avoid litigation.

Before returning to his hometown of Birmingham, Mr. Chapman practiced in New York City, the downstate region of New York and Long Island. His prior experience in litigation includes insurance claims and coverage, construction litigation, and the defense of insured retailers, distributors, and manufacturers in products liability cases.

Mr. Chapman obtained Juris Doctor from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York City. While studying at Cardozo, Jerry served as an Associate Editor on the Cardozo Arts and Entertainment Law Journal and focused his studies in pretrial practice and trial advocacy. He is an alumnus of both the Intensive Trial Advocacy and the Advanced Trial Advocacy programs at Cardozo. While in law school, Mr. Chapman volunteered with the Nassau County Legal Aid Society to assist with weekend arraignments and served on several successful political campaigns for local judges.

Mr. Chapman earned a bachelor’s degree from Vanderbilt University where he majored in Non-fiction Composition in the English Language.

Mr. Chapman lives in Birmingham with his wife, Brooke. Outside of the office, he enjoys golf, softball, and coaching weekend sports leagues as a volunteer with the Exceptional Foundation.
