Kevin Hon

Biographical Information

Kevin Hon is an associate in the Firm’s litigation section. He focuses his practice on automotive liability defense. He also practices in appellate advocacy and insurance litigation including the defense of insurers against first-party and third party insurance claims, extra-contractual claims, coverage disputes, bad faith claims, and punitive damage claims.

Prior to joining Hand Arendall Harrison Sale, Mr. Hon practiced as an attorney at a firm specializing in civil litigation. He gained invaluable experience there conducting trials and navigating complex litigation. He wrote and successfully presented briefs to the Alabama Court of Civil Appeals, the Supreme Court of Alabama, and the Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit. In addition to the experience he has in civil litigation, he also served as the Chief Executive Officer and in-house counsel for a business specializing in healthcare communication services.

Mr. Hon obtained his Juris Doctor from Emory University School of Law in 2011. While in law school he volunteered with criminal prosecutors’ offices in Alabama and Georgia where he assisted in preparing cases for trial, developing witnesses, conducting probable cause hearings, arguing evidentiary matters in court, and writing appellate briefs that were successful before the Georgia Court of Criminal Appeals. Upon law school graduation, he was honored with a Pro Bono Recognition for his outstanding service.

Mr. Hon earned his bachelor’s degree at Wake Forest University where he graduated in 2008 with a double major in Political Science and Religion. He was inducted into Theta Alpha Kappa Religion Honor Society, Pi Sigma Phi Political Science Honor Society, and on the Dean’s List while at Wake Forest University.

Mr. Hon was born and raised in Huntsville, Alabama. He currently resides in Birmingham, AL with his wife, Angie Hon. In addition to practicing law, he enjoys attending church, spending time with his wife, family and friends, reading, watching basketball, playing the piano, traveling, and outdoor activities.
